I'm passionate about forward thinking leadership, love being involved in start-ups and thrive in a supportive culture that gets a thrill from change, problem solving and high growth!
I started leading ladies when I began my new role at BizDojo as Wellington Regional Manager. I knew it was going to be a big job and I'd need support from peers to help me succeed. It's worked! Since setting up the tech hub programme with Wellington City Council I went on to cofound PROJECTR and I'm CEO of an interactive virtual and augmented reality production studio Mixt. It's been a big few years. From senior roles to startup world.
I honestly don't know how I'd any of this without peers to support me.
I set up this website and open sourced our learnings as I would love for more women to get involved and I'm happy to share my learnings and our format.
A former manager and mentor once told me that my success would be determined by that of both my team and my peers. Them being successful would result in all of us thriving together. She was bang-on and now I share this advice with my teams as well.
I am an experienced leader in fashion retail, with expertise in people leadership, maximising revenue growth, and brand & culture management. Before moving to New Zealand, I was a Director at Canada's premier fashion retailer, Aritzia, where I led the retail expansion through Central Canada with a team of 200+ incredible employees. I am now part of the team opening the first David Jones department store in NZ!
I am a self-confessed geek, obsessed with all things marketing. I blog and podcast for TechMarketer.org, mentor marketing professionals and run the Wellington Marketing Meetup group.
I have 10 years experience in product marketing from consumer electronics with Mitsubishi Electric to software with SilverStripe. I've spent the past two years working in tech marketing and love the pace, focus on continuous improvement and data-driven marketing.
I have found huge value in mentoring and being mentored throughout my career. Leading Ladies creates a unique environment of peer mentoring, rather than top-down. I love having a space to consult with super smart peers about challenges and ideas. I'm excited to see other Leading Ladies groups get going, so more women can experience the same support and encouragement.
With a background in theatre production and stage management, I have always worked in in roles where organisation, facilitation and an understanding of what makes people tick were key. I am now the GM People and Culture at Wellington Airport, where I champion the company culture and values, while overseeing all elements of HR. A key focus of mine is looking for ways to help people feel empowered to achieve in the workplace and that’s what the Leading Ladies mentor group does for me; talking things through with clever, inspiring women is hugely motivating and I would recommend it to all women who want to go places!
I'm a Director in the Finance and Economics team in the Wellington Consulting Practice of PwC.
Hi! I'm Sarah, Head of Commercial and Procurement at Xero, Forbes' No #1 Innovative Growth Company. I'm currently taking time out to introduce my newly born son, Edward, to the world.
Passionate about all sorts of things: negotiating, learning and problem-solving to name a few. I think this is how I found procurement. I love to hear others' perspectives and bring people together to problem-solve.
Too often in New Zealand we hear that the downfall of small businesses is that their owners are too busy working in, not on the company. A lot of people treat their lives just the same. Enter Leading Ladies. I come away from our sessions a better version of me, a renewed energy and perspective. I'm thrilled we are now here to help connect you with other wonderful people to do the same.
I’m COO at 8i, one of the most exciting new businesses in virtual and augmented reality. Peer mentoring with these amazing ladies is a true secret of success, inspiration and sanity!
My loves include … finding interdisciplinary solutions, building great teams, supporting education and opportunities for women in business and tech. Also, finding friendships in unexpected places and good conversation at Prefab.
We are on the hunt for more awesome ladies. Hit us up on our contact page.
